This is a brilliant road for a medium/fast ride and conveniently takes you south without having to go near the M11 or A1M.
At Hauxton take the B1368 from its junction with the A10 and after Fowlmere enjoy the open road to the junction with the A505. (Fuel here) At A505 do a right/left staggered X-roads and then continue south on B1368. this is the fun bit as far as Hare Street where after this a 40mph limit has been put in to the junction with A10 where you can turn left to go south or right takes you up towards a bikers cafe.
The unrestricted road stops near the x-roads at Hare Street where you can turn right to Buntingford and pick up the A607 another good road.

Royston to Puckeridge section:
A damn fine bit of road with lots of good runs linking off the sides particularly the B1039 towards Saffron Walden (fast sweepers, lots of elevation change, good visibility, positive cambers, some farms on the roadsides so some surfaces are a bit inconsistent in places)and the B1038 from Hare Street to the B1383 again surfaces are excellent in places and require some care in others but a glorious mix of cambers, elevation changes, chicanes, hairpins, super fast sweepers with not many long straights to speak of. Visibility in places is very poor so caution is advised as lots of the nadgery short corners link very closely and have high hedges on either side but still a challenging and varied road.

Royston to Puckeridge section:
From Royston, at the small one way system in the south end of royston head out east towards barley. this first section once out of town has some fast clear straights and blind corners. once through barley the road opens out again and twists and turns over crests nicely, though theres a few deceptive ones with no obvious indication of which way the road goes - take care! theres a few small villages on the route with 30mph signs but out of there its fast as you like, buildings are mostly farm houses etc, so beware of farm traffic. ive seen the odd police car sitting in a field entrance between crests a few times but its not that common. towards the south end theres a couple of railway bridges that will get you airborne if you hit them too fast and one has a tight bend after it. overall a good road thats not over used by cars or by bikes, more fun and quieter than the A507!
